Are You a Crap Magnet?

Here's a quote that may very well change the way you think -- and increase the amount of money you make with your music!

I found it in T. Harv Eker's Secrets of the Millionaire Mind. I've heard about him and this book for years, but only recently got my hands on a copy. The first time I flipped through it, the book randomly opened to page 58, where one of his "wealth priciples" jumped out at me in bold type:

"When you complain, you become a living, breathing crap magnet."

What an awesome quote. Wayne Dyer expressed the same idea years ago when he said "What you focus on expands in your life." But I have to admit, Eker's version packs a more potent slap to the face.

Whenever I bring up this "law of attraction" stuff, I know there will always be a group of people who write it off as "positive thinking nonsense." If you feel that way, then this message is not for you.

But if you have an open mind, think about this: Your outer world is a direct reflection of your inner world. As Eker points out, your mental perspective is like the roots of a tree -- a crucial but unseen part of who you are. The tree is the visible result of the root system. Sick roots lead to an unhealthy tree.

Your brain works the same way. Crap in, crap out.

Enough preaching. You get the idea.

I've got to get my wife to read that quote! Maybe she'll complain less!

Hahaha! Just kidding. What you are talking about I believe to be very true. I'm not huge into the Law of Attraction or "The Secret" but being a positive person surely brings positive things.

Great quote. From years of touring I've noticed that musicians seem to have a gift for turning complaining into a way of life. As we get into our midlife, it's often clear what this crap magnet has brought us. Sadly, many people seem to deny their responsibility and complain more. I'm doing my best to find another approach that could lead to the opposite of crap.....I'll call that joy.

Thanks for the wisdom.

hey Bob,

Coincidentaly, I was reading today " the Science of Getting Rich" by Wallace D. Wattles. He says the same thing.
But I admit, your quote says it all!
Keep reading you, so keep on writing,

From what I understand, with the "Laws Of Attraction", it is thought that positive thoughts actually send out positive vibrations similiar to electro magnetic fields. These fields interact with other Postive Fields within the positive cosmos. I do not believe that this "theory" has ever been proven or is capable of being "measured" by instruments, therefore would have to remain a theory not an actual "thing". On the other hand, if someone is an absolute idiot and screams and yells at everyone for no reason, then common sense would dictate that most other people would avoid that person. It would have nothing to do with an inner 'energy' they are giving off - it would have more to do with their personality and attitude. You can identify a negative person by those factors. You can hear what they say and how they say it. Also, if something is crap, you will see it as crap. If you must wait for some type of negative EMF wave to tell you so, then, I'm sorry. You may be waiting for a long time.

"When you complain, you become a living, breathing crap magnet." I couldn't have said it better myself.

As entertainers, our "job" is to take unhappy people coming to see us and send them away happy aqnd content. The most effective and successful entertainers are positive, pleasant, happy, confident people who overlook the crap this world portions out to all of us, focusing on the good.
